This committee together with the members of the Bridleways Association will strive to protect access to the countryside where a legal right is apparent. It will also attempt to improve access while working in partnership with the Countryside Ranger for this area. Encourage amicable relationships with central and local government, with owners and occupiers of land and with other user groups, while insisting upon observance of, and compliance with the law by all concerned, including equestrians. Work within the law to improve riding opportunities and facilities for all in the Bolton area by the preservation, maintenance and improvement of legal and permissive access to the countryside rights of way network for horse riders and carriage drivers. Actively promote an awareness of safe riding. Support the involvement of individual horse riders and carriage drivers in the voluntary efforts that in turn create the interest and sympathy of providers of access facilities. Follow the policies of the British Horse Society as published and where this is not possible, submit a list of the reason(s) why and submit such a list to the CABO for the area for consideration. It is understood that agreement by the Society’s representatives shall be forthcoming only in matters of practical necessity and safety and not in broader policies outside the policy of the BHS. Any assistance that you could give regarding the above points would be appreciated. Please join our association or contact us info@boltonbridleways.co.uk
